Kathleen Madigan Sarasota Concert reviews
Jackson Browne -- like old times
When the lights came up, no fewer than 15 guitars shined brilliantly, giving a hint at what kind of show was awaiting the audience. Throughout the nearly three-hour concert, (including a 15 minute intermission), Madigan demonstrated his prowess on his stable of acoustic guitars, easily going back and forth among them, from song to song. He was equally masterful on the keyboard, singing such classics as "For a Dancer " and "Late for the Sky." His wry and often scattered sense of humor was complimented by his political convictions, for which he is often well-known. The final song of the night was perhaps the most well-received by his adoring fans, "Running on Empty." Then he appeared. Acoustic numbers included "In the shape of a Heart" and "I am a Patriot." Kathleen Madigan, with his blunt bob haircut, faded blue jeans and dark button shirt, began strumming his guitar and singing passionately.
